About Us
Mission Statement
Transforming the lives of children and their families at risk of or experiencing homelessness because we believe that every child deserves a home.
Who We Are
Family Promise of Sarasota-Manatee was established in 2008, coordinating an interfaith, multifaceted approach to ending family homelessness. FPSM is an affiliate of Family Promise National, part of more than 200 affiliates across 43 states.
FPSM collaborates with dozens of nonprofit agencies, local organizations, interfaith congregation partners and engages more than 200 volunteers to prevent homelessness, divert families out of unsafe or unsustainable living situations, and stabilize previously unhoused families.
Since reopening in 2020 after a three year hiatus, FPSM has responded to the housing crisis for more than 300 families across the region.
What We Do
Family Promise of Sarasota-Manatee offers two programs for assistance.
HOME FOR GOOD: Prevention, Diversion and Stabilization opportunities to keep families safely sheltered
FRANCIS HOUSE: Home-like shelter for pregnant women with children under 18 years of age
“I would never have gotten this far this fast without the assistance that Family Promise provided.”
